A 47-year-old man has had his Ferrari impounded after he was allegedly caught travelling at well over 200km/h in Wangaratta this afternoon, Victoria Police say.
Police initially received reports of the silver-coloured sedan travelling at high speeds along the Hume Freeway shortly before 1.20pm.
The Ferrari was then allegedly detected by Wangaratta Highway Patrol officers travelling at 233km/h near the Greta Road overpass.
The car was intercepted without incident.
The driver, a man from New South Wales, is expected to be charged with driving-related offences.
He was travelling with a 36-year-old woman who was also from New South Wales.
The vehicle was seized under hoon legislation and will be impounded for 28 days at a cost of $1325.
