Building waste, bagged rubbish, bike tyres and even a trolley were among the many items cleared from Fishers Ghost Creek during the Great Spring Clean Up last Friday.
Most of the litter collected was made up of drink bottles, cans and convenience food packaging, highlighting how small everyday choices can make a big difference in keeping our community and environment clean.
The event also celebrated the vital role Bushcare volunteers play in preserving natural habitats across Campbelltown.
"It was fantastic to see our community come together to make a visible difference at Fishers Ghost Creek, showing that by working together we can create a lasting and positive impact," Mayor of Campbelltown, Darcy Lound said.
"Events like this highlight how every day actions can contribute to a cleaner, safer and more sustainable environment for both our community and wildlife," Cr Lound said.
About Bushcare
Council's Bushcare volunteer program offers community members the opportunity to contribute to the protection and restoration of local natural areas. The program provides a way for people to spend time outdoors while learning more about native plants, wildlife and waterways.
Bushcare groups are involved in a variety of activities, including tree planting, erosion control, weed management, litter removal and wildlife monitoring. These projects not only support the health of the environment but also foster social connections among volunteers with a shared interest in conservation.
