Five promising young athletes have been awarded funding through the Cultural and Sports Trust Fund, following Councillors' endorsement of the recommendation at September's Ordinary Council Meeting.
Angus Ogilvie received $550 after he was selected to compete at the World Triathlon Age-Group Championships in Wollongong from 15 – 19 October 2025.
Bridget Watters (pictured) received $300 to referee at the School Sport Australia Championships in Ballarat from 25 – 29 October 2025.
Stella Skeels and Hugh Fletcher both received $300 for the 2025 Hockey Australia National Championships held in Brisbane from 5 – 11 October 2025. Stella is part of the under-14 girls' team and Hugh the under-14 boys' team.
To top off this month's allocation, Nash Wall received $300 after being chosen to represent NSW in the under-13 team at Boxing Australia's Australian School Aged Championships in Marara, NT, from 30 September to 3 October 2025.
The Clarence Valley Cultural and Sports Trust Fund provides financial support, in any calendar year, to a maximum of $300 for individuals to attend one event at a national level, and $550 per individual for one event at an international level.
Submissions are now being encouraged with the Clarence Valley Cultural and Sports Trust Fund Policy V8.0 now on exhibition until Thursday, 9 October 2025.
