Funding Doubled As CLP Open 2026 Men's Places Grants

NT Government

The Finocchiaro CLP Government will open the 2026 Men's Places Grant Program today, on International Men's Day, with this year's Australian theme, "Supporting Men and Boys".

Celebrated annually, International Men's Day is an occasion that shines a light on the social challenges men and boys face, from school disengagement to mental health and wellbeing.

In response to strong community demand, the CLP Government has doubled the funding pool for 2026 from $100,000 to $200,000, with grants of up to $20,000 now available.

Minister for Youth, Seniors and Equality, Jinson Charls, said today is a reminder that supporting men's wellbeing strengthens whole families and communities.

"On International Men's Day, we celebrate the positive contributions Territory men and boys make every day - as fathers, sons, leaders, mentors and community members.

"Men's places play a vital role in creating safe, inclusive spaces where men can connect, share experiences and seek support without judgement. These grants help them deliver activities that improve mental health, build confidence and reduce social isolation."

"Demand for this program continues to grow, which is why we have doubled the funding pool to $200,000 and increased the maximum grant amount to $20,000. This investment ensures more community-led initiatives can be supported right across the Territory."

Funded activities may include skills workshops, information sessions, health and wellbeing initiatives, peer-support groups, parenting programs and small equipment purchases.

A previous grant recipient, Pathfinders NT successfully completed The Rite Path program - delivered in collaboration with IBC Community Services and OzFish Unlimited - has demonstrated powerful outcomes for young men aged 15-21.

The program combines yarning circles, a challenging hike along the Jatbula Trail, and a reintegration ceremony to strengthen identity, resilience and leadership.

Pathfinders NT Managing Director Jessy Hall said the Men's Places Grant enabled the organisation to deliver The Rite Path, a program that strengthens identity, resilience, and belonging through yarning circles, therapeutic mentoring, and the transformative experience of hiking on Country.

""Grants like this help us tackle social and economic disadvantage through preventative programs, giving young people the confidence and support they need to walk their path with pride."

"We're especially proud to see our young leaders stepping forward -like our recent co-presenter at the Thrive Youth Summit - who shared how connection to nature, culture, and consistent mentors has helped him turn his life around. That's the kind of change these grants make possible."

Applications for the 2026 Men's Places Grants close 2 March 2026 and can be submitted via GrantsNT. here
