Funding open for 2020 Harmony Week activities

  • Harmony Week is a celebration of multiculturalism in WA
  • Funding is now available for community groups and not-for-profit organisations to hold cultural diversity and inclusion activities for Harmony Week 2020.

    Grants of $2,000 are available from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.

    Harmony Week, a Western Australian Government initiative, runs from March 15-21 every year and encourages everyone to experience, explore and appreciate WA's wealth of cultural, faith and linguistic diversity.

    The deadline for funding applications for Harmony Week 2020 activities is at 4pm on October 21, 2019.

    As stated by Citizenship and Multicultural Interests Minister Paul Papalia:

    "Harmony Week is an opportunity for all of us to celebrate and explore the vibrant multicultural society that we enjoy in Western Australia.

    "Local activities based around arts and culture, or sport and recreation are great ways to bring the community together for Harmony Week so that people can learn about the cultures and traditions that make up their neighbourhood."
