Further arrests after Sunbury armed robberies

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested and charged a further two men, a 32-year-old Taylors Hill man and 20-year-old Riddells Creek man, following a number of incidents which occurred in Sunbury on May 7.

Police allege the Riddells Creek man was involved in a robbery on Pasley Street about 7.45am.

A 22-year-old Sunbury man was assaulted and had his headphones, mobile phone and wallet stolen.

It's alleged the two men then used the victim's credit cards to purchase goods.

Investigators also alleged that the Riddells Creek man stole keys, a wallet and a car at a Sunbury gym later in the day.

In all, police have arrested and remanded three men in relation to the robbery and other incidents.

The Riddells Creek man was arrested in Footscray yesterday and has been charged with robbery, theft, theft of a motor vehicle, obtaining property by deception and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

He has been remanded to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court today.

The Taylors Hill man has been charged with a total of 35 offences including robbery and other related offences. He has been remanded to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court on 24 May 2019.

The Sunbury man has been charged with a total of 32 offences including two armed robberies, robbery and other related offences. He has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 14 August.
