Further charge laid over stabbing - Macquarie Park

A further charge has been laid against a teenager following an alleged stabbing in Macquarie Park earlier this month.

Just before 5.30pm on Sunday 11 June 2023, emergency services were called to a park in Herring Road, Macquarie Park, following reports of a brawl.

On arrival, officers from Ryde Police Area Command located a 14-year-old boy suffering a stab wound at a nearby railway station.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

It's alleged the injured boy was involved in a fight with a group of teens at the park before fleeing to the railway station where he was allegedly stabbed by one of the teens.

A crime scene was established at both locations, and investigation commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident under Strike Force Gorinski.

Following inquiries, five boys, aged 13, 14, 15, 17, and 17, were arrested and charged. They remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, strike force investigators attended a home in North Kellyville today (Friday 23 June 2023) and arrested a 17-year-old boy.

He was taken to Ryde Police Station, where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The teenager was refused bail to appear at a Children's Court today, where he was granted strict conditional bail to appear before a Children's Court on Monday 26 June 2023.
