Further charges after Norlane fatal

Detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit have further charged two men following a fatal collision which occurred in Norlane on 14 October, 2020.

Two vehicles, an orange Holden sedan and a silver Ford sedan, collided on Melbourne Road about 5.20pm after the Holden sedan was allegedly seen racing a silver Holden wagon.

The driver of the Ford, a 68-year-old Norlane man, was taken to hospital after sustaining serious injuries but died on 22 October.

The driver of the Holden, a 33-year-old man from Lovely Banks, had been charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury.

The driver of the Holden wagon, a 35-year-old man from Lara had attended Waurn Ponds Police Station on 16 October and was also charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury.

Both men have received further charges including culpable driving, dangerous driving causing death, reckless conduct endangering life and street racing.

They have been bailed to appear at Geelong Magistrates' Court on 5 February, 2021.
