  • A three-day forum to connect the eight Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hubs began today. The forum will also hear about other Future Drought Fund programs and from a range of speakers on drought resilience.

Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management David Littleproud said the Drought Resilience Science to Practice Forum would become a landmark event for drought management.

"This is the first time the participants and hub partners in all eight drought hubs will be able to meet and share their unique regional characteristics, priorities and focuses over the next three years," Minister Littleproud said.

"The hubs will be working with farmers and communities to understand their needs and give them the tools they need to continue producing the best food and fibre in the world".

"This is an excellent opportunity for hubs to reach out to farmers, researchers, business owners, industry and community representatives and to start the work of co-designing the hubs priorities and building the foundations for drought resilience in our regions.

"The eight drought hubs are integral to our four-year, $117.3 million Future Drought Fund Drought Resilience Research and Adoption Program.

"Whether you are a researcher, a farmer, agriculture innovator, industry representative or member of the community - I encourage you to participate."
