Future of Networked Cancer Care Unveiled at ACCN

Cancer Australia

Cancer Australia, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) Alliance are co-hosting the second Australian Comprehensive Cancer Network (ACCN) Innovations Showcase. This no cost event will be held on Thursday, 3 July 2025, at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne. Presentations will be accessible both in-person and online, ensuring participation from health professionals nationwide, including those in rural and remote regions.

With over 850 members, the Australian Comprehensive Cancer Network (ACCN) is transforming cancer care in Australia by connecting cancer services, clinicians, and researchers nationwide. As a virtual national network, the ACCN unites services, existing networks, and alliances across all states and territories, fostering collaboration and the sharing of expertise to ensure every Australian affected by cancer has access to comprehensive, high-quality care, no matter where they live.

The Innovations Showcase will spotlight networked cancer care and explore how the ACCN can facilitate comprehensive cancer care as close to home as safely possible. The event will focus on three key themes:

  • Improving equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Showcasing established initiatives and best practices in networking and collaboration.
  • Exploring how the ACCN can be leveraged to enhance implementation and innovation in cancer care delivery.

All professionals and services involved in the cancer continuum - from prevention and diagnosis to treatment, survivorship, and palliative care - are encouraged to join the ACCN.
