Future secured for Seniors Card

NT Government

A vital cost of living program for senior Territorians has been secured for another five years.

The Territory Labor Government has again partnered with the Council on the Ageing NT (COTA NT) to manage the NT Seniors Card Program to 2027.

More than 27,000 people are currently subscribed to the program which continues to grow as new seniors move to the Territory to live, and others reach the age threshold to qualify for the card.

Any permanent NT resident who is 60 years of age or older is eligible for a Seniors Card which is available free of charge and can help senior Territorians make savings on everyday living costs.

Around 1700 Territorians will celebrate their 60th birthday in the coming year, while more than 450 seniors chose the NT as their new home during 2021-22.

The discount card also benefits participating businesses, the ranks of which continue to swell with almost 500 businesses across a range of products and services now providing discounts to card holders.

The NT Seniors Card is nationally recognised so seniors can also access discounts when they travel.

COTA NT has been successfully managing the NT Seniors Card program since 2018.
