Garfield North Celebrates Completion Of New Community Facility

Cardinia Shire Council was proud to join members of the Garfield North community to celebrate the completion of a new multipurpose community facility.

The Garfield North Community Centre, located at Cannibal Creek Reserve, was officially opened today and is the result of strong community advocacy and collaboration between Council, the Committee of Management and local user groups.

Designed in consultation with the community, the facility provides a versatile space to support a range of activities and events. It features a social room, meeting room, kitchen, storage area, accessible toilet, and unisex toilets and can accommodate up to 80 people.

"We are thrilled to celebrate the official completion of this vital community infrastructure project for our Garfield North community," said Cardinia Shire Council Mayor, Cr Jack Kowarzik.

"The new facility will support recovery, strengthen connections and provide a welcoming space for community groups to host meetings, events and activities."

The project was made possible through a $1.3 million investment from the Victorian Government's Growing Suburbs Fund alongside contributions from Council.

Council extends its thanks to the Committee of Management, Cannibal Creek Reserve user groups, and More Building Group for their collaboration and commitment to delivering this important community asset.
