Geelong detectives investigate Yarra Street aggravated burglary

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following an aggravated burglary which occurred earlier this morning in Geelong.

The incident occurred on Yarra Street when four offenders kicked in the front door of a residential address just before 5.30am.

Two of the offenders walked back to a dark-coloured station wagon parked outside the address while two other offenders entered the home.

Once inside the address the burglars made their way to the kitchen where they stole alcohol, two mobile phones and the keys to a 2017 Mercedes Benz, registered GLE 250.

The burglars left the house, with one getting into the Mercedes and the other man getting into the station wagon, before both vehicles drove from the scene.

The occupants of the home, a 72-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman were not injured in the burglary and were not aware of the burglary until later in the morning.

The stolen Mercedes has still not been located.
