Our leaders are encouraging residents of all ages to join them in the City of Greater Geelong Run4Geelong next month to support local healthcare.
Mayor Stretch Kontelj OAM, Junior Mayor Ayush Singh and CEO Ali Wastie came together at the waterfront recently to rally others to sign up for the celebration of fitness, community, and inclusivity on Sunday 9 November.
The 2025 City of Greater Geelong Run4Geelong is set to be the largest one yet and the first 6,000 registrations will receive a free event t-shirt to turn the city red in support of the Barwon Health Foundation.
Zoe Waters, Executive Director of Barwon Health Foundation
We are thrilled to have the Mayor, Junior Mayor and CEO of our City taking part in this year's Run4Geelong. This event brings our entire community together and there are options for everyone - whether you're running, walking, rolling or strolling. It's a way to say thank you to the hardworking healthcare workers who are there day and night, providing world-class care for our community.
Stretch Kontelj OAM, Mayor of Greater Geelong
Run4Geelong is an annual highlight on the calendar – for both my family and the community. Geelong shows up when it matters most, and I am so proud to be joining thousands of others as mayor and a community ambassador of the event. I encourage you to sign up to support our local health service and each other. I'll see you at the start line.
Ayush Singh, Junior Mayor of Greater Geelong
Run4Geelong truly proves that no matter what your age is, you can make a difference. I'm sure many young people have a connection to Barwon Health, whether that be personally or through family and friends. I look forward to seeing my peers on the course and supporting this important event.
Ali Wastie, CEO of City of Greater Geelong
The countdown is on and the City of Greater Geelong is proud to be leading the way. We know how important this event is to our community, and we're delighted to help bring people together for a cause close to our hearts.
