Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III announced today that the president has made the following nomination:
Army Gen. Christopher G. Cavoli for appointment to the grade of general while serving as Supreme Allied Commander, Europe. NATO has also agreed to appoint Gen. Cavoli as Supreme Allied Commander, Europe. Gen. Cavoli is currently serving as commander, U.S. Army Europe-Africa. In addition to the NATO position, Gen. Cavoli will be assigned as commander, U. S. European Command.
