Get Emergency Ready Now

Prepare before it's here - download the Get Prepared app today

Emergencies can strike without warning. Planning ahead and being ready can make all the difference.

That's why Emergency Ready Week (Monday 14 September to Sunday 20 September 2026) is the perfect opportunity for City of Ryde residents to make sure they're prepared.

With emergencies increasingly affecting communities across NSW, residents are encouraged to review their household plans and take simple steps to improve their readiness. This includes downloading the Get Prepared app, attending a free Emergency Preparedness Workshop on Tuesday 22 September or children's workshop on Monday 28 September, and completing the Emergency Preparedness Quiz for a chance to win a prize (entries close Monday 28 September).

Preparing an emergency kit is another important step. Essential supplies can help households remain safe and self-sufficient when power, communications or transport services are disrupted. Residents should tailor their kits to their individual needs, including items for children, pets, medications and other essentials.
