Gifford Park Sporting Facilities Upgrade Input Sought

Georges River Council

Georges River Council plans to build a new sporting amenities building at Gifford Park in Penshurst. We are calling on the community for feedback before finalising the designs.

The project is part of Council's 2025–26 Capital Works Program. It will replace the old toilet block with a safer, more accessible facility for residents and sporting groups.

The new building is expected to include upgraded public toilets, and the provision of Home and Away changerooms, a storage room, and a canteen.

The exact location and design have not been decided yet, and Council wants to hear from the community before making any decisions.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said,

"Gifford Park is a much-loved space for walking, relaxing, and sport. The current toilets are outdated and don't meet safety or accessibility standards."

"Your feedback will help us design a facility that suits the community and fits the park's character."

Council wants residents to share:

  • How often they visit Gifford Park.

  • What activities they do there.

  • Which features are most important for new sporting amenities.

  • What factors to consider for its location.

The upgrade will improve facilities and create a welcoming space for all visitors.

Consultation is now open and will close 19 November 2025. To have your say, visit Council's Your Say webpage.
