Gluten-Free and Plant-Based People of Australia Rejoice with Introduction of New Zealand's Cracker Minis

Milk Bottle Projects

From New Zealand's rolling hills to supermarkets across the country, Aussies can expect to see Rutherford and Meyer's range of wholesome snacks on Woolworths shelves this September with the introduction of their Cracker Mini range. Offering a refreshing take on classic platter essentials, Rutherford and Meyer produce 100% plant-based and gluten-free crackers and fruit pastes, all derived from high-quality, natural New Zealand ingredients.

Rutherford and Meyer's cracker range has already proven to be a favourite amongst their New Zealand and US consumers, and for a good reason. Cracker Minis are packed full of real vegetables and are baked, not fried. From mid-September, anyone from vegans to lunchbox packers will be able to explore Rutherford and Meyer's Cracker Mini range, available in Beetroot, Chickpea and Garden Veg. They can simply be enjoyed with dips and hummus, on their own as the perfect, guilt-free snack, or combined to create a colourful cheese platter or grazing table for entertaining that additionally caters to gluten-free dietary requirements.

The introduction of Cracker Minis into Australia is the newest venture for nutrition expert and daughter of the founder, Jan Meyer, who has spent over 20 years running the family business. Years of experience have seen the brand grow, beginning with two farming friends in North Canterbury, New Zealand, who wished to turn their excess Summer fruit into something deliciously wholesome for everyone to enjoy. Still using old family recipes, Rutherford and Meyer continue to make crackers with an abundance of flavour thanks to their locally harvested ingredients, which they know Aussies will soon grow to love just as much as they do. Being the leading brand of fruit paste in New Zealand, some Australian distributors had already begun trading independently with Rutherford and Meyer before their launch; however, they are now proud to have official exposure in mainstream supermarkets with the rollout of their Cracker Minis on Woolworths biscuit shelves from September.

As Rutherford and Meyer's product range and consumer market continue to expand, their mission remains the same, "you don't have to sacrifice flavour for goodness". By showcasing their products on a commercial scale, they want to ensure that Aussie consumers can find wholesome snacking options that are packed with real vegetables instead of artificial flavours. These polenta-based Cracker Minis were developed with that vision in mind; using natural ingredients derived from the goodness of raw beetroot, chickpeas and mixed garden vegetables, as well as flax seed and poppy seed, essentially doing all the hard work for you. Designed as a quick and easy snack or to be enjoyed with friends and family with cheese and dips at picnics or at home, these small but mighty crackers pack enough flavour that they don't need to be paired with much else.

Receiving multiple titles in NZ's Artisan and Food Producer Awards, Rutherford and Meyer have been praised for their ability to produce and promote wholesome eating for several decades. Following their Cracker Minis launch, Aussies can soon expect to see their 'Limited Edition' range of Platter Selection packs at Woolworths deli counters from this month. These convenient 3-in-1 packs will feature their iconic fruit paste, gourmet wafers and chickpea crackers (available in Quince and Fig) and are perfect for fuss-free entertaining in the lead-up to Summer.
