Good Samaritan dies in Endeavour Hills tragedy

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a fatal crash in Endeavour Hills this morning.

Investigators have been told a car travelling east on Heatherton Road, crashed into traffic lights before continuing on and coming to rest on the Monash Freeway about 3.15am.

A good Samaritan stopped her car and went to assist the driver when she was hit by another car travelling along the Monash Freeway.

Tragically, the yet to be identified woman, died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the initial crash was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the car that hit the woman stopped and is helping police with their enquiries.
