Good Sammy's New Canning Vale Headquarters Now Open

Good Sammy's new Canning Vale headquarters is now open, thanks to a $2.9 million Lotterywest grant and a $300,000 election commitment from the Cook Government.

The decadesold site has been transformed into a contemporary workplace designed to expand employment and training opportunities for Western Australians with disability.

The upgrade will support more than 700 staff, customers and students and strengthen Good Sammy's capacity to deliver services, offering more Western Australians with disability meaningful employment and opportunities to thrive.

The facility includes a modern reception, spacious canteen, recreation and break areas, dedicated training rooms and a commercialgrade kitchen. Each space has been purposefully designed to create a welcoming and accessible environment.

It also provides enhanced accessibility features including braille wayfinding signage, heightadjustable tables and desks, inclusive toilets, and walkways with varied textures and patterns to support diverse sensory needs.

Good Sammy provides paid employment and volunteer opportunities that builds confidence, social skills, and workplace capability for people with disability, offering practical experience in a supportive environment.

As the secondlargest disability employer in Western Australia, Good Sammy proudly employs more than 850 staff - around half of whom identify as people with disability - and supports a volunteer base of around 200 people.

As stated by Premier Roger Cook:

"Good Sammy's revitalised headquarters is a welcoming, accessible environment that gives Western Australians with disability the practical skills, work experience and sense of belonging needed to grow their confidence and independence.

"This new purpose-built space will allow Good Sammy to deliver meaningful employment opportunities for people with disability and offer an inclusive and supportive community for staff, volunteers and their families.

"My government is building safe and inclusive communities, and this Lotterywest grant, along with the delivery of an important election commitment, has supported the redevelopment of the facility, providing greater accessibility and supporting improved employment outcomes for Western Australians with disability."

As stated by Disability Services Minister Hannah Beazley:

"The Cook Government is committed to supporting the disability sector in WA as it continues to deliver life-changing opportunities to people with disability across our state.

"It is essential that people living with disability are given the chance to reach their potential through meaningful training and employment opportunities.
