The Government of Western Australia has approved an increase in the reward on offer for information on the suspected murder of Lisa Govan.
Lisa Joanne Govan was 28 years old, when she disappeared in suspicious circumstances from Kalgoorlie in 1999.
Ms Govan was last seen in the early hours of October 8, 1999 on Boulder Road, at a property adjacent to the Foundry Hotel.
She never returned home and was later reported as a missing person.
Despite extensive enquiries and media coverage Australia wide, Ms Govan has never been found.
Recently, following an investigative review, Special Crime Squad Homicide Detectives requested an increase to the current $250,000 reward.
State Cabinet has approved the request.
The Government of Western Australia will pay a reward of up to $1,000,000 for information that leads to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the disappearance of Lisa Joanne Govan.
As stated by Police Minister Michelle Roberts:
"Police believe there are people in the community who know what happened to Lisa, but for whatever reason have not spoken up.
"Now is the time.
"For the sake of the Govan family, who have endured the pain of not knowing what happened to Lisa 21 years ago, I urge you to come forward."
