The process for enrolling in schools will remain the same.
Parents will still be able to apply to enrol their children out of area should they choose to do so.
This Government has always been about respecting parent choice.
An absence of education policy does not give Labor the right to spread fear among school communities in an attempt to scare parents.
What is being reviewed in consultation with local communities are the intake maps, which have not been updated since 2005.
To be clear, consultation with parents, schools and the community has been extensive and is ongoing.
Our expectation is that for many schools there will be minimal or no change to boundaries and where there is change it will reflect such matters as geography, parent journey to work and bus routes.
Any suggestion reviewing intake areas will result in school closures is ludicrous, it was Labor and the Greens who had a plan to try and forcibly close schools in Government, in contrast we are building more of them.
Importantly, under a Hodgman majority Liberal Government, parents will always be able to apply to their school of choice outside their intake area, if capacity allows. This has been a long standing practice and it will continue.
