The Government is filibustering its own Bill this afternoon.
The Order of Business today sets out three Bills which the Government wanted to get through. We have now heard five separate Government Members stand up and take up time talking out a Bill which the Opposition has already indicated support for.
Instead, after a remarkable shambles this morning, where the Government messed up moving its own Motion of Public Importance (MPI), we now have a situation where Government Members are actively delaying the Government's legislative agenda.
The Government has not tabled a single new Bill for the week, failed to answer important questions on Hydro Tasmania and has Ministers trying to escape scrutiny with an early minute.
This is a Government struggling after multiple resignations, reshuffles and scrutiny of its handling of the energy portfolio. It's not getting the basics right on the cost of living, health and housing and Tasmanians deserve better.
