Ai Group Queensland has welcomed the State Government's latest announcement of support for businesses struggling during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Rebecca Andrews, the Queensland Head of the national employer association Ai Group, said: "The new $500 million loan facility for businesses, which is interest-free for the first 12 months, will help Queensland businesses continue to operate and preserve the jobs of thousands of Queenslanders.
"The extension of the payroll tax deferral to all businesses, not matter their size, across the state is also a welcome move which Ai Group has previously called for.
"We look forward to working with the Queensland Government on further support measures for Queensland businesses. Together we need to ensure local businesses survive the economic headwinds brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and can continue to not only supply goods and services to customers, but support staff and their families," Ms Andrews said.
