GPAC To Host Another Live World Cup Screening

Following the overwhelming community response to the live screening of the Socceroos' opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Latrobe City Council Mayor Councillor Sharon Gibson is excited to announce the live streaming of an additional game.

The next live site will stream the Australia vs Paraguay game at Gippsland Performing Arts Centre (GPAC) on Friday 26 June 2026 from 12noon.

The first event, held on Sunday 14 June as part of the Victorian Government's World Cup Live Sites initiative, transformed the GPAC forecourt in Traralgon into a vibrant, family friendly celebration of football, community spirit and national pride. Fans of all ages gathered with picnic rugs and chairs in front of the big screen to cheer on Australia as they took on Türkiye (Turkey).

Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Sharon Gibson, said she was delighted to see the community come together for this event.

"There was an incredible turn out for the first screening. Community members of all ages came together in the spirit of the World Cup. Even the sun was out for the occasion and, of course, we all loved the result," the Mayor said.

There is no need to book ahead for the upcoming game - just bring your own seating and enjoy the game.
