Grants now open for local community organisations - City of Casey

If you're a part of a club, group or organisation that provides programs, services or events in the Casey community, then the 2019/20 Training and Equipment Grants might be for you!

Applications are now open for the grants program, with funding of up to $1,000 available for local community groups.

The funding from these grants is designed to help you support and develop your volunteers and group members, buy equipment to help your group operate successfully and diversify your programs to ensure they're inclusive.

City of Casey Mayor Cr Amanda Stapledon said this funding program goes a long way to support the sustainability and operation of vital community services.

"I would encourage anyone eligible for this funding to submit an application, as the extra money can go a long way in upskilling and preparing your volunteers and equipping your group with everything you need to succeed," she said.

"The funding from this grant can go towards training for group members and volunteers, such as first aid, leadership development and coaching, or for the purchase of equipment needed to help your service operate effectively.

"Council is committed to supporting clubs, community groups and organisations in the delivery of local programs and events that promote a sense of belonging and inclusion across Casey, and help residents to be healthy, active and engaged in community life."

A copy of the Equipment and Training Grant Guidelines are available on Council's website, as well as a list of who is eligible to apply, what Council can and cannot fund, and how we determine the successful grants.

Applications will close at 5.00 pm on Thursday 3 October and will be assessed against a set of criteria, which can be viewed on Council's website.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their submission in December this year.
