The Acting Australian Government Chief Medical Officer, Professor Michael Kidd, has lifted the COVID-19 hotspot declaration of Greater Melbourne, Moorabool Shire, City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast Shire, Borough of Queenscliff, Bass Coast Shire (including Phillip Island), and the Rural City of Mildura, from 11:59pm on 27 July 2021.
The Victorian Government today announced a lifting of lockdown restrictions for the state. Recent cases have been in known contacts who are already in quarantine or isolating. With this reassuring situation, the Acting Chief Medical Officer Professor Michael Kidd has decided to lift the declaration of Greater Melbourne, Moorabool Shire, City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast Shire, Borough of Queenscliff, Bass Coast Shire (including Phillip Island), and the Rural City of Mildura as a hotspot from 11:59pm on 27 July 2021.
Public health measures will remain as per the Victorian Health advice, such as masks must continue to be worn indoors and outdoors (except in the home), offices can return with 25 per cent occupancy or a cap of 10 people, whichever is greater and restaurants and businesses and venues can reopen with capacity and density limits of one person per four square metres, to help prevent ongoing community transmission.
