The Greens NSW co-convenor Rochelle Flood said: "It is unfortunate that Mr Field has taken this position.
"In 2015 the people of New South Wales elected Greens MP Dr John Kaye to Parliament and Mr Field only occupies his seat following his appointment after Dr Kaye's death.
"Mr Field should now do the decent thing and resign from Parliament and allow the seat to be filled by a Greens member.
"The Greens NSW and our six hardworking MPs in the NSW Parliament will continue to work tirelessly to tackle dangerous climate change, protect the environment and deliver a fairer state for all," Ms Flood said.
