Grievous bodily harm at Mackay

Mackay police are appealing for public assistance after the serious assault of a man in Slade Point during the early hours of Friday, December 18.

Between 9.30pm and 10.30pm, a 46-year-old Slade Point man was involved in an altercation with an unknown person at a licensed premises on Pacific Esplanade.

The 46-year-old man then returned home.

At about 12.30am, two unknown men allegedly attended a residence on Kewsick Avenue where it will be alleged that a bat and fence palings were used to assault the 46-year-old outside his house.

The victim called emergency services and was treated for head wounds by paramedics before being transferred to Mackay Base Hospital for further treatment.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or observed a white Mitsubishi Triton Utility in the Kewsick Avenue area at the time of the offence to come forward.
