Grievous bodily harm charge at Redcliffe, QLD

Police have charged a man following a serious assault incident that occurred at Redcliffe yesterday evening, Queensland Police say.

The incident occurred about 7.45pm outside a fast food restaurant on the corner of Anzac Avenue and Silvyn Street.

It will be alleged a group of male persons were involved in the disturbance resulting in 17-year-old male person receiving serious head injuries.

The boy was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition.

An 18-year-old Kippa Ring man is charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on May 15.

Detectives are appealing to any motorists who were in the area at the time of the incident that may have relevant dash cam footage.

Detectives would also like to speak to a witness who provided first aid to the boy.

Investigations are continuing.
