Grievous bodily harm charge in Pimpama, QLD

Police have charged a 22-year-old Pimpama man with grievous bodily harm following an investigation into alleged injuries sustained by a three-month-old baby last year.

On September 27 the baby boy was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with significant injuries.

Following an extensive joint investigation by officers from the Gold Coast's Child Protection and Investigation Unit and State Crime Command's Child Trauma Team, code named Operation Quebec Holly, police arrested the man this evening.

He has been denied police bail and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, February 2.
