Grievous Bodily Harm Charges, Fortitude Valley

Detectives from the Fortitude Valley Criminal Investigation Branch have charged two men following an alleged stabbing this morning, July 25.

It will be alleged around 3.30am, an altercation occurred on the footpath near Wickham Street and Brunswick Street in Fortitude Valley.

A 27-year-old man sustained stab wounds to his chest and was transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Two men allegedly fled the scene on foot and were arrested nearby on Costin Street.

An 18-year-old Zillmere man has been charged with one count each of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning bodily harm, going armed to cause fear, and possess knife in a public place.

An 18-year-old Bald Hills man has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

They are both due to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, July 26.

Investigations are continuing.
