Griffith is preparing to burst into bloom this October with the return of its much-loved seasonal celebration, Griffith Spring Fest 2025. Running from 12 to 25 October, the festival brings together the vibrant heart of the Riverina for two weeks of community, gardens, creativity and unique Griffith experiences.
Visitors can expect a colourful program that celebrates everything that makes the region unique, from its strong agricultural roots to its thriving arts and cultural scene. One of the signature attractions, the Real Juice Company Citrus Sculptures, will once again transform Banna Avenue into a whimsical outdoor gallery from 12 to 25 October. Over 60 larger-than-life sculptures, crafted from thousands of locally grown oranges and grapefruits, will line the main street. Each sculpture shows off local creativity from organisations around town and is a tribute to the region's citrus industry.
For garden lovers, the Open Gardens are on 18 and 19 October, offering a rare glimpse into some of the area's most beautiful private gardens. Some gardens are nestled among vineyards and citrus groves, while others flourish on open acreage or spacious rural properties, each one showcasing the unique creativity and diversity of our local green thumbs. Whether you're seeking inspiration or simply a peaceful place to wander, the open gardens are a springtime treat.
Those who prefer a curated experience can book into one of the Roy Spagnolo & Associates Garden Bus Tours, running on 15, 18, 19 and 22 October. Departing from the Griffith Tourism Hub, each tour includes visits to a selection of private gardens and a light lunch in a picturesque setting, making for a relaxing day of exploration and connection. Bookings are essential for these private garden bus tours.
The Medlog Street Party is taking place on Friday 17 October at the Griffith Tourism Hub car park, located on the corner of Banna and Jondaryan Avenues. This vibrant, family-friendly evening brings the community together for live music, local food and wine, kids' activities and the stunning citrus sculptures lit up in the background. With free entry and a welcoming atmosphere, the street party is a highlight for locals and visitors alike.
Many local operators are coming on board to add to the exciting program of events, ensuring there's something for everyone, from art exhibitions to winery experiences and much more. Businesses, particularly those along Banna Avenue, are also encouraged to help brighten the CBD by decorating their windows with spring-themed displays.
Tourism Manager, Mirella Guidolin said, "Griffith Spring Fest is one of our biggest and most-loved events of the year and it's a joy to welcome thousands of visitors who come to experience what makes our region so unique, from the beautiful gardens and iconic citrus sculptures to the warm, country hospitality that leaves a lasting impression. That's why so many people come back year after year, they feel part of something special here. If you haven't been before, you really need to check it out for yourself."
