Group charged over assaults, robberies - Police Transport and Public Safety Command, NSW

Police investigating multiple alleged assaults and robberies on or near public transport in western Sydney in recent months have arrested and charged 10 teenagers.

Between 18 December 2018 and 6 January 2019, five people were assaulted and robbed in separate incidents at Blacktown and St Marys railway stations, and on trains near Seven Hills and Quakers Hill.

Officers from the Police Transport and Public Safety Command launched an investigation into the incidents, which are alleged to have been committed by members of the same group.

Following inquiries, investigators arrested 10 teenagers on Tuesday and Wednesday (15 and 16 January 2019).

A 17-year-old male was charged with aggravated robbery and inflict actual bodily harm. He was given conditional bail to appear in a children's court on 27 February 2019.

An 18-year-old man was charged with two counts of robbery in company and was bail refused to appear in Blacktown Local Court on 7 March 2019.

A second 18-year-old man was charged with two counts of robbery in company and was given bail to appear in Blacktown Local Court on 30 January 2019.

A 17-year-old boy was charged with robbery in company and was given bail to appear in a children's court on 22 February 2019.

A 14-year-old boy was charged with four counts of robbery in company and assault with intent to rob. He was refused bail to appear in a children's court on 23 January 2019.

A15-year-old boy was charged with assault with intent to rob in company and was given bail to appear in a children's court on 28 February 2019.

A 16-year-old boy was charged with four counts of robbery in company and assault with intent to rob in company. He was given bail to appear in a children's court on 4 February 2019.

A 14-year-old boy was charged with three counts of robbery in company and was given bail to appear in a children's court on 28 February 2019.

A 15-year-old boy was charged with robbery in company, assault with intent to rob, and steal from person. He was given bail to appear in a children's court on 22 February 2019.

Another 15-year-old boy was charged with robbery in company and was given bail to appear in a children's court on 28 February 2019.

Investigations into the alleged assaults and robberies are continuing and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
