Group charged over theft of baby formula, cosmetics, NSW

Four men have been charged over the alleged theft of baby formula and cosmetics from supermarkets in Sydney’s south west yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 4.30pm (Saturday 20 October 2018), police were called to a shopping centre in Mount Annan after two men were seen allegedly stealing baby formula from a store.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command attended and stopped four men as they were getting into a vehicle in the car park.

During a search of the car, police located and seized a large amount of baby formula and cosmetics.

It’s alleged the items, valued at more than $2500, had been stolen from two supermarkets within the shopping centre.

Drug paraphernalia was also located and seized from the car.

The four men – aged 55, 33, 35 and 36 – were arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station where each was charged with multiple offences; including steal from retail store, and possess goods suspected of being stolen.

They were given conditional bail to appear at Picton Local Court on 13 November 2018.

Inquiries are continuing.
