Hairdresser charged with historical sexual assaults - Rose Bay

Detectives have charged a hairdresser following an investigation into the alleged historical sexual assaults of a woman in the Eastern Suburbs.

In November 2018, detectives from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command launched an investigation into sexual assaults that allegedly occurred in 1984.

Following extensive inquiries, about 10am yesterday (Monday 18 May 2020), detectives arrested a 76-year-old man at Day Street Police Station.

Police will allege the man sexually assaulted a client - who was 15-years-old at the time- at his hairdressing salon at Rose Bay, and also at a house in Double Bay.

He was charged at with two counts of sexual assault – person under 16 years of age.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 5 August 2020.
