Expression of Interest – Halls Community Asset Committee

Horsham Rural City Council is seeking expressions of interest from passionate and community-minded individuals to join the Halls Community Asset Committee.

This volunteer Committee, established under Section 65 of the Local Government Act 2020, plays a key role in managing, maintaining and activating the following Council-owned community halls:

  1. Dadswell's Bridge Hall
  2. Hamilton Lamb Memorial Hall
  3. Jung Hall
  4. Laharum Hall
  5. Mitre Hall
  6. Natimuk Community Centre (NC2)
  7. Natimuk and District Soldier's Memorial Hall
  8. Sailor's Home Hall
  9. Taylor's Lake Hall
  10. Telangatuk East Hall

What does the Committee do?

Acting on behalf of Council, the Committee:

  • Coordinates, manages and develops designated halls for community benefit
  • Promotes hall usage and community participation
  • Raises and contributes funds towards hall-related expenses
  • Advises Council on hall programs, improvements and community needs

Who can apply?

We're looking for up to 10 community members over the age of 18 who have a direct interest or active involvement in their local hall and the surrounding community. Whether you're already involved or keen to contribute, we welcome your application.

Terms of Appointment:

Appointments are made by Council resolution. Current members may reapply for an additional term.
