Hartley's Oval upgrade at Canley Vale

Fairfield region families now have access to improved recreational facilities following a $155,000 upgrade to Hartley's Oval at Canley Vale.

The Fairfield City Council project was supported with a $40,000 grant from the NSW Government's Crown Reserves Improvement Fund (CRIF), and a $10,000 grant from the Australian Government Stronger Communities Program.

The new playground facilities include a multi-play unit, bird nest swing, spinner bowl, and a high-performance cloth shade sail providing more than 90% UV sun protection across the playground area.

New seating and a picnic table setting have been installed as well as new garden beds and plantings and connected concrete pathing.

The new modern playground will encourage families and children to enjoy the outdoors and open space, and is located close to sportsfields and cricket practice nets for further options.

The Crown Reserves Improvement Fund helps maintain and improve reserves and community-focused facilities that are located on them.
