Have your say on real estate and property industry reforms

The NSW Government is seeking feedback on three draft documents that will implement the 2018 property industry reforms, including changes to rules of conduct, qualifications and revised Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements for agents.

The consultation seeks feedback on three key documents:

  • Draft Property and Stock Agents Amendment Regulation 2019
  • Draft Property and Stock Agents (Qualifications) Order 2019
  • Draft revised Continuing Professional Development requirements

These documents provide the supporting detail necessary for the commencement of the Property, Stock and Business Agents Amendment (Property Industry Reform) Act 2018, which passed NSW Parliament on 7 March 2018.

The reforms are aimed at improving the professional and educational standards of agents working in the property industry, increasing transparency and accountability and streamlining the licensing framework. These changes are outlined in an explanatory paper which also sets out how the different elements will work together in practice.

Make a submission on all or any aspect of the draft documents. The NSW Government will consider all feedback before finalising the laws.
