Thirty people from all over the world made the decision to become new citizens and call Australia home on Monday 1 December 2025.
Federal Member for Macquarie Susan Templeman MP and Hawkesbury City Mayor Les Sheather welcomed the new citizens in the final citizenship ceremony for 2025. Also in attendance were Councillors Peter Ryan and Nathan Zamprogno, Hawkesbury Police Area Command Chief Inspector Peter Jenkins, and Major Ian Carter, Training Officer Air Mobility Training and Development Unit at RAAF Base Richmond.
In total, Council has welcomed 117 new citizens across five ceremonies in 2025. The latest new citizens joined us from Canada, Germany, India, Iran, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, and the United Kingdom.
All news citizens were presented with their official citizenship certificates, and a native plant from the Hawkesbury Community Nursery. These plants were chosen as there are suitable for the local environment. The plants are seedlings that will grow alongside the new citizens as they establish in the community.
