Hazardous road conditions due to bushfire smoke across Tasmania

Tasmania Police urge motorists and road users to take extra care on roads throughout Tasmania today due to reduced visibility caused by bushfire smoke.

A large plume of smoke has blown south from Victoria and New South Wales which has combined with existing smoke from Tasmanian bushfires and blanketed many parts of Tasmania from the Northwest Coast to Southern Tasmania.

Drivers across the State are advised to slow down in areas of reduced visibility, drive to the conditions, and turn headlights or driving lights on.

People with medical conditions should exercise care in smoky environments and avoid the smoke where possible.
