Headspace welcomes COVID-19 support funds from Federal and NSW Governments

headspace National Youth Mental Health Foundation welcomes today's joint funding announcement from the Commonwealth and New South Wales Governments to help mental health services support young people impacted by COVID-19.

As part of the joint $17.35 million package, headspace will receive $7 million for outreach support to parents and young people across greater Sydney.

headspace CEO Jason Trethowan welcomed the funding injection.

"We know COVID-19 and efforts to contain its spread are continuing to have an impact on the mental health of young Australians," Mr Trethowan said.

"COVID-19 has changed the way young people work and study, as well as how they connect with family and friends.

"It's imperative young people impacted by COVID can continue accessing free and confidential mental health services like headspace.

"We want to remind the community that headspace is here to help. Our NSW centres remain open offering services both face to face and via Telehealth.
