Hells Angels OMCG member arrested in Miami, QLD

Police have charged a Hells Angels OMCG member after the location of over $100,000 in cash and half a kilogram of ICE over the weekend, Queensland Police say.

It will be alleged just before 10am on Saturday officers located the man walking along the Gold Coast Highway in Miami with over $40,000 is cash in a pillowcase and a key to a rental car.

Officers from Palm Beach station located the rental car outside an address in Miami. About 4pm officers from Taskforce Maxima conducted a search of the vehicle and located approximately 500 grams of ICE and a further $75,000 in cash hidden in the padding of the backseat of the car.

The 36-year-old man was charged with one count of possess dangerous drug and two counts of possess tainted property.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court this morning.

"The seizure of 500 grams of ice and a significant amount of cash on a confirmed Hells Angels member on a Saturday morning in the middle of the Gold Coast is a significant concern.

"Thanks to the great police work of local officers, Taskforce Maxima was able to work with them and achieve the aforementioned result.  OMCGs and crime gangs need to understand that the focus on their criminal activities is coming from all of the QPS and that this attention is relentless," Detective Inspector Phillip Stevens said.
