Help Guide Australia's Plan To Halt Biodiversity Loss

Dept of Climate Change, Energy, Environment & Water

We're calling on all Australians to join in collective action to halt and reverse biodiversity loss.

Have your say on the implementation plan for Australia's Strategy for Nature 2024-2030. The strategy was updated last year, in partnership with state and territory governments.

It sets 9 priority areas (6 targets and 3 enablers of change) to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030, so by 2050 we are living in harmony with nature. This vision aligns with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

Your feedback will help shape a plan to guide how governments, communities, businesses, and individuals can work together to achieve this goal.

The implementation plan will:

  • set outcomes for each target and enabler of change
  • highlight where more action is needed
  • show how progress will be monitored and reported.

We want your input on whether the proposed outcomes focus on the right priorities, where more effort is needed, and any gaps that should be addressed.

Your feedback will help create a plan that:

  • supports healthy ecosystems
  • strengthens connections between people and nature
  • improves how we care for and value our environment.

Have your say before submissions close at 11:59 pm AEDT 15 October 2025.
