Council is inviting community feedback on the draft Health and Wellbeing Plan 2025–2029, which is open for comment until Sunday 14 September 2025.

The draft Plan outlines how our Shire compares with the State average across a range of health indicators, highlighting key areas where Murrindindi residents experience poorer health outcomes. While prepared by Council, the Plan sets priorities for the whole community and calls for coordinated actions from all agencies.

Council's role in supporting health and wellbeing across the Shire includes advocating, planning, funding and partnering with service providers, agencies and community groups. The Plan also emphasises the importance of addressing inequities and supporting priority population groups.

The draft was informed by community feedback, health data, a review of the current 2021–2025 Plan and collaboration with key health partners. It sets out a shared vision between Council and our partners for supporting physical, mental and social wellbeing.

The Plan identifies children, young people and older residents as priority cohorts, recognising that different community members experience health and wellbeing in different ways. Council's initiatives will focus on reducing barriers to equity and ensuring local voices guide this work.

Community members are encouraged to review the draft and provide feedback to help shape the final Plan before it is presented to Council for consideration in October 2025.
