Help sought to find missing man at Rockdale

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a man missing from Sydney’s south.

Jinrong Shi, aged 87, left his home on Rockdale Plaza Drive, Rockdale, about 9.30am yesterday (Monday 24 February 2020), to attend a nearby newsagency.

When he failed to return home, family members searched the area before notifying police.

Officers from St George Police Area Command commenced inquiries and confirmed Mr Shi attended the nearby newsagency and bought an Opal card.

Despite an extensive search of the area, police and family have been unable to locate him and have serious concerns for his welfare. Mr Shi is has a pre-existing medical condition and only speaks Chinese.

Mr Shi is described as East Asian in appearance, about 170 cm tall, medium build. He was wearing a black baseball cap, reading glasses, a white shirt with a beige colour button up knitted vest, withblack pants, blue socks and navy coloured slippers. He was holding a dark navy coloured shopping bag and a red coloured walking stick.
