Helping carers go digital

Often supporting others full-time and rarely getting a break, carers can find themselves isolated and disconnected from the community.

To help bridge the gap, we're providing free digital equipment and tech training. With these tools carers can stay better connected with friends and family, use online services and enjoy some well deserved rest time.

So far, more than 20 carers have been given access to wifi and equipment such as laptops, iPads and tablets. Our Libraries team have been reaching out and providing 1-on-1 training and support to help carers practice and learn new skills on these devices.

As one carer said "having access to a laptop and the internet has allowed my partner and I to stay in touch with family and friends and for me to have 'time off' – what a great program!"
