Henrietta Gleave advises on a range of matters relating to art and cultural property law, whether or not contentious. These have included disputes concerning attribution, provenance, title, illegally exported and excavated goods and the restitution of cultural property. She acts for a broad spectrum of clients including dealers, collectors, galleries, auctioneers and art market professionals.
Henrietta is a Fellow of the Institute of Art and Law and teaches aspects of their Art Law diploma course. She is also a guest lecturer at Queen Mary and CCLS teaching on the Art, Business and Law LLM. She is regularly ranked as a leading individual in legal directories Chambers HNW, Chambers UK and The Legal 500.
This role is not remunerated. This reappointment has been made in accordance with the Cabinet Office's Governance Code on Public Appointments. The process is regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
The Government's Governance Code requires that any significant political activity undertaken by an appointee in the last five years is declared. This is defined as including holding office, public speaking, making a recordable donation or candidature for election. Henrietta has made no such declarations.
