Here to help: Allianz supporting customers affected by hail storms

As many Sydney suburbs begin cleaning up the damage following last night's fierce storm that saw many communities smashed by heavy rain and hail the size of golf balls, Allianz Australia is quickly responding and reminding customers that the claims team is here to help.

Matt Wood, Allianz General Manager for Customer and Partner Services, said that while the storm has had a significant impact, the Allianz team was available and well prepared to support customer enquiries and claims requirements.

"We have strengthened our resourcing with additional claims staff around the country to support the high volume of calls and have activated our automated callback system so customers have the option of a call back from the next available claims consultant. Our assessors are currently on the ground helping customers and we have established Hail Assessment Centre's in the Milperra and Gosford areas," said Mr Wood.

"At present, the highest numbers of claims for hail and water damage are being reported in Sydney's south western, eastern and northern suburbs from Berowra to Erina. Although it is too soon to tell the magnitude of this event, this may be one of the most significant storms we've seen in many years given the amount of claims that are continuing to come through."

"We understand that customers will be concerned, especially with Christmas just around the corner. We want to reassure the community that we are here to help those affected get back on their feet as soon as possible."

Customers that have storm damage can contact Allianz on 13 10 13, or lodge their claim online at http://www.allianzclaims.com.au. Customers dealing with windscreen damage are encouraged to make their vehicles safe by contacting O'Brien Glass direct on 1800 557 055.
