High Range Drink Driver At Devonport

A 30-year-old Devonport man has been charged with numerous offences including high range drink driving, drive under the influence and disqualified driving after narrowly avoiding a collision with a parked vehicle in Devonport on Saturday evening.

Around 9:50pm, police patrolling the Devonport area observed a red Toyota utility travelling north on William Street swerve violently to avoid a collision with a parked car.

Police intercepted the driver, where he is alleged to have assaulted police before being taken into custody.

The male later returned a breath analysis reading of 0.181. He was charged and detained to appear before the Devonport Magistrates Court later today.
